Real Estate Fundamentals - 30 Hours

This 30 hour class is to enable students to develop an understanding of the complex legal issues involved in the study of real estate and provide them with a solid, technical, legal foundation upon which a successful career can be built.  This core objective will be achieved by addressing the following specific instructional objectives:

  1. Identifying and understanding the role of government and laws that impact rights and interest in real property.

  2. Developing an understanding of private rights and interests in land; how those rights and interests are held and how they are transferred.

  3. Identifying and being able to explain basic principles of contract law, and financing principles.

  4. Developing an understanding of license law and rules and regulations that impact real estate licensees.

Real Estate Practice - 45 Hours

This 45 hour class is designed to provide the student with essential information regarding laws, business practices, ethics and technologies which will enable them to conduct themselves as professionals in ways that ultimately protect the consumers to whom they provide services.  This core objective will be met by achieving three specific instructional objectives:

  1. Introducing and familiarizing the student with the scope of the real estate business and market, and the role of licensees (brokers and salespersons) in it.

  2. Developing an in depth understanding of the laws, regulations and ethical standards that impact and govern the conduct of licensees.

  3. Providing an understanding of activities involved in constructing a residential sales transaction and the role and obligations of a licensee involved in the transaction.

After successful completion of each class as well as a proctored exam, the student applies for the State Real Estate Exam.

After passing the State exam, the student then chooses a real estate broker to activate the license.
